Mujeres indígenas sin frontera is a fiction short film inspired by real events.
Seseta, 23, persuades her 17-year-old cousin Rosakuwia to leave their community in search of paid work and the possibility of continuing their education. After walking for hours from the Indigenous community of Playas de Bojaba to Saravena, Arauca, they begin working as live-in domestic workers.
Outside their community, the two young women face forms of vulnerability, exploitation and abuse they had never imagined. The film explores the risks experienced by Indigenous women who migrate in search of opportunity while navigating unfamiliar social and economic systems.
